Watermill Restaurant

Nestled in the charming neighbourhood of Wimbledon, Watermill Restaurant at 3 Watermill Way, London SW19, blends cozy British tradition with a modern casual dining twist. Whether you're stopping by for a laid-back brunch, a midday bite, or a warm solo dinner, this place has something to suit every mood-and appetite.

Right from the moment you arrive, the warm, inviting atmosphere wraps around you like a well-worn cardigan. With its wheelchair-accessible car park, entrance, seating, and toilet, Watermill Restaurant is refreshingly inclusive and easy to navigate for everyone. It’s the kind of spot where locals become regulars and newcomers are made to feel instantly at home.

Now, let’s talk food-the real heart of the experience. One of the first things that stands out is their Yorkshire Pudding, a golden, fluffy classic that pairs perfectly with a hot cup of English Breakfast Tea. It’s hard to find this level of authenticity in a casual setting, but Watermill gets it just right.

If you're someone who enjoys starting the day on a fresh note, their Vegetarian Breakfast Half is an excellent choice-light, well-balanced, and full of flavour. But if you’re leaning toward indulgence, go for the Chicken Burger and Chips. Crispy on the outside, juicy on the inside, and served with hand-cut fries that are seasoned to perfection. It’s one of those no-fuss, always satisfying meals that hits the spot every time.

Afternoon cravings? You’ll want to try their Tea Time Treat, a delightful assortment of small bites designed for sharing (or not-we’re not judging). The desserts here are also worth writing home about, especially when paired with their great tea selection or a smooth glass from the wine list.

What really makes Watermill shine beyond the food is its service variety. Want to dine alfresco? There's outdoor seating. Prefer to enjoy your meal at home? They offer delivery (including no-contact options) and takeaway, making it convenient no matter your dining style. You can also enjoy a relaxed dine-in experience with friendly staff who strike that rare balance between attentive and laid-back.

It’s not just about big meals either-Watermill caters well to those seeking a quick bite or a chill drink. Whether it's a refreshing beer, a smooth spirit, or a hot coffee, they’ve covered all bases. And yes, coffee lovers will be pleased-the brew here is bold, rich, and full of depth.

From breakfast to dinner, Watermill has steadily built a name as a go-to dining hub in Wimbledon. Whether you're flying solo or out with friends, this place makes it easy to relax, refuel, and enjoy the moment. You don’t need a special occasion to stop by-just a good appetite and a love for well-crafted, hearty food.

Excellent party venue!!!. We had our wedding here th September and it was absolutely perfect. The setting looked magical, a historical building dating back to the era of William Morris and Liberty designs that we all still love today. The rooms with exposed brickwork lit by fairy lights and candles...with beautiful outside areas to sit and enjoy on the banks of the river wandle, Abbey Mills a truly hidden gem. The owners John and KC were beyond amazing both with planning and the food was perfect. We had a course carvery dinner and homemade buffet in the eve. All guests were impressed at the quality of the food and the beautiful setting, we had rooms, the main room with seating, dancefloor and dj, the cafe for the buffet and a quieter area to chat, and the conservatory as a games room with pool table, cocktails and alcoholic slushies. Please take a look at the Watermill for any parties or events you are hosting. We comfortably sat daytime guests and increased to in the eve with room for a dj and dance floor. The venue can host more guests if needed. We had the perfect wedding day thanks to the hard work of all the team at the Watermill. Thank you all so much. Karen x

I attended a wedding at The Watermill in September. The venue was warm and inviting and we had a wonderful night of drinking, dancing and catching up with old friends. The staff were friendly and the buffet we had was delicious and plentiful. I’d definitely go again and I’d love to be there and see if it’s as wonderful when they aren’t hosting a wedding.

Quaint café/grill in old windmill building and nice exterior covered extension.Excellent service, and very reasonably priced food!I had the half a vegetarian breakfast and nicely done toasts! Was filling and nice! Tea was seriously spot on. Nicely brewed and smooth! One of the best teas I have tasted!By that I mean, I could taste the tea's natural quality without having the urge to add a little sugar. I also got and a half cups from the tea pot!Ambience nice and cosy. If you want to feel like you're at a day theme park, just step into the extension at the front of the café/grill.Overall nice food at a very reasonable price near a windmill. You don't need to go to Holland now!
